“there is a crack, a crack in everything.

that’s how the light gets in.”

~ Leonard Cohen

Hi, I’m Muriel.

I’m a daughter, sister, wife, mother of two beautiful children, dog owner, and a survivor of complex childhood developmental trauma. While this doesn’t define me, it deserves respect, acknowledgement, and care—because healing is never linear.

My yoga journey began over 16 years ago during a particularly challenging time in my life. I was grappling with deep-rooted traumas from childhood—a moment some might call a quarter-life crisis. It was a pivotal turning point, as I chose to confront reality in all its complexity. I started therapy, changed my job, moved, and began the long process of healing.

Yoga became my sanctuary—a safe space I kept returning to. In moments of intense anxiety, overwhelming emotions, and resurfacing memories, my breath and body became my anchors. Over time, yoga transformed from something I leaned on to something I leaned into. Each time I returned to the mat, I cultivated a deeper sense of safety and trust in my own body.

After several attempts to embark on my teacher training, I finally took the plunge in 2023, completing my 200-hour YTT with Himalayan Yoga Valley. It’s been a transformative journey ever since. As I deepened my practice, I began experiencing profound releases—tremors, shaking, and emotional unblocking. My practice held me through it all, allowing me to sit with and release these sensations. Along the way, I sought guidance from other healing practitioners and resources to support me through these powerful experiences.

This led me to pursue further studies in areas that would help support others on their healing journeys. Exploring Polyvagal Theory, the Vagus Nerve, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and the Chakras has been both empowering and illuminating. The integration of ancient yogic wisdom with modern neuroscience has given me immense compassion and understanding—for myself and for others walking a similar path.

Yoga, for me, is more than a practice—it’s a way of life, a philosophy, a source of nourishment and love. Through my personal challenges, I’ve discovered the power of yoga as a healing modality, and I am deeply committed to sharing that gift with others.

My hope is that through yoga, I can help others find their own light in the cracks of life.

Namaste,
Muriel xx
